Studies on the NAD Glycohydrolase of rabbit thymocyte

Abstract
|

|
The NAD Glycohydroase of rabbit thymocyte was found as an ectoenzyme which was located on the outer surface of the cell membrane, whereas control enzyme, acid phosphatase, was present in cytoplasm.
The NADase of the thymocyte showed the highest activity among rabbit tissues.
The NADase of rabbit thymocyte had the folllowing properties, optimum pH ; 6.8, apparent Michaelis constant for NAD(Km) ; 4mM, 50% inhibition by 6 mM nicotinamide, and INH-insensitive, which are different from the properties of NADases in the eryth-ocyte and in the polymorphonuclear leukocyte of the rabbit.
